All
communications, both within a store and between store and Head Office, are
based on standard Windows networking for simplicity and reliability. There
is no need for a conventional polling system at Head Office in order to
exchange data with the stores. Our unique till-based Network Manager
application simply utilises Windows' Remote Access Service (RAS) to
initiate routine connections to Head Office and to the Internet. Ad hoc
transmissions can be made just as simply from Head Office to
stores.
Internet Internet connectivity
is an in-built option and can provide, for example, concurrent access by
stores to a central database. This can bring a significant improvement in
customer service at the point-of-sale.
E-mail We have developed a
comprehensive e-mail system (SMTP/POP3) to work with the e-pos keyboard,
allowing your retail network to keep in touch. A centrally maintained
address book ensures that you control the e-mail communications.
On-line card
authorisation We've incorporated extensive validation of credit
and debit cards together with full on-line authorisation - which, using
ISDN, ensures a very speedy response. With our usual attention to
resilience, all stores can dial the card-operator networks directly with
no dependence on a central server. Settlement occurs automatically
overnight from Head Office.
